A beautiful day

Last weekend our good friends Kathleen and Phil were married. Minus the wind, it was a practically perfect day. It started in Omaha, NE, where an LDS temple is located. Oh funny story- Ross was one of the groomsmen, but he didn't stay with the other boys the night before the wedding, so they had to bring him his tux at the temple. So instead of putting pants into the tux bag to give to him, they put a black skirt in instead. They were all hoping he'd put the skirt on, but instead he just came out of the temple really confused and a little panicked. When he came out Phil and the others had a good laugh at Ross' expense.

Many pictures were taken before and after the ceremony, and then we made the drive back to Manhattan. When we got back we had an hour to kill- I'm not sure what Phil and Kathleen did during that time... The ring exchange started at 7:00, and it was beautiful. The building was so cool- hardwood floors, musky green walls, and windows lining it. The music was gorgeous, and their vows were sweet. It was kind of weird to see Phil be sentimental. But it was cute. After the ceremony the wedding party went to City Park and took pictures in front of the fountain. They were by far my favorite pictures. I'm pretty sure I imposed on the other photographers throughout the entire day, but I was really excited to take these. Sorry to the other photogs.

A little glimpse...

Last friday night Ross went to a bachelor's party while I babysat for some friends of ours. Her name is Rebecca. It was soo much fun to watch her! It maybe gave me a teeny tiny idea of what it might be like to have kids. At least a glimpse of the fun part of having kids anyway. These are some pictures I took of her, because I will probably start doing professional sessions of children through my dad (Alan Honey Photography), and I wanted to practice.

She is adorable, so it's easy to take good pictures of her. (I know there are a lot of them, so if you don't want to look at them.. don't!:))

my little sunbeams

These are two of my adorable sunbeams. I can't get enough of them! Rachel and Hannah here are best friends (see hands). I have been their primary teacher since the beginning of the year now. But Rachel (left) forgets my name every sunday. Every sunday she asks if I'm her teacher, and then asks me my name. So this last Sunday I wanted to test her. The conversation went as follows.

Rachel: "Hey, whats your name?" Said in a little tine voice with the inability to pronounce r's.

Me: "Rachel, you know my name. But if you can't remember, why don't you ask Hannah there if she knows."

Rachel: Tap on Hannah's shoulder.. "Hannah, what's Sister Terry's name?"

Me to myself: Hmm..

an unexpected surprise

There's almost nothing as fun/sickening to watch as a newly engaged couple. I love these, because you can just see in them how happy they are.

I forgot to mention that this is my sister-in-law Becky and her fiance Ken. Too cute.

A new hair color, an engagement, and my first official photo shoot-- all in one weekend!

Ross and I got bored one evening. So we said to ourselves, "lets go crazy!" So, a trip to Wal-Mart, $3.50 spent, and two hours later...

At first I was a little bit nervous...

But he talked me into it.

As you can see, Ross was pretty excited to do it.

ODE TO ROSS

Okay

Let me preface anything I write here with telling you that I am an AWFUL story teller. I can never get the punch line in the right place. Most of my stories start out with the most exciting part and get less interesting the longer you read them. So you know, hopefully this will go okay.

I created this blog because I want to share my thoughts and feelings. Right now, I am feeling especially thankful for my husband. So I'll share that. Hmm.. where to start?

My husband is wonderful. He takes care of me. Last week was a very stressful week in school for me. I had a million things to get done, and I wasn't handling the stress very well. I was acting Cu-RAZY; I completely broke down into hysterical sobs (no, the situation probably didn't merit going into hysterics, but sometimes girls just need to be a bit melodramatic). Poor Ross didn't really know how to handle that. So, like any good husband who is unsure of how to handle the situation should, he took me into his arms and asked how he could help. Well, I had a LOT of little things I needed to get done. I told him all of them, and he took it upon himself to complete two of my homework assignments on his own. So yeah- my husband loves me so much that he does my homework for me.

Ross is really athletic. You wouldn't know it by looking at him, but his 145 pounds can sure pack some heat. :) He is a great ball player, frisbee thrower, and cross-country runner. I have a feeling that ever since Ross was little, he's been playing with balls, jumping off of things, and running around. I hadn't really understood how athletic he is until recently. Ross and I were on an intramural softball team just a little while ago. Our team was not very good (myself very included), and so a fair number of foul balls and bad throws occured throughout each game. On one such foul ball occasion, the ball went over a fence. This fence was probably about 5 ft high or so. Ross volunteered to go get the ball. We thought he would either go around the fence, or jump over it like a normal person- feet first. Much to our surprise, Ross ran up to the fence, grabbed on to the other side from the top, and flipped his legs over to the other side. It was basically a front-flip involving the fence. Well, everyone was pretty shocked. The bystanders all looked at me as if to say, " and you married that crazy person?" I smiled proudly. Wow. Yes, yes I did. How cool is he? And how cool am I for marrying him?

Mostly I just want to say that I don't do enough to deserve him. He is an amazing person, and I'm so grateful for him. To Ross-- MWA!

Some cutie pies

Here is my niece, Nadia, and my nephew, Matthew. I love them so much. I take a lot of pictures of them when they visit. Yes the picture of Matthew is definitely photoshopped up.

I enjoy photography, and will likely have a lot of pictures on this blog. I prefer photos to text any day.

Here it is.

This has been a long time coming. I've been on the fence of this blogging issue for a while now. I've thought maybe I'd wait until we have kids, or until we had real jobs, or until our lives became more exciting somehow. But who knows how soon that might happen? So, after knocking this idea around for some time, and after deciding that maybe we are exciting enough to join the blogging world... I decided to go for it. So here it is..

MY FIRST BLOG.
