Birthday!

I turned 27 last Saturday, and this is how we celebrated.

First, date night with my favorite person on Friday night,
at an Egyptian restaurant.  Was actually really delicious.
We love trying new things.  After that we walked around the Plaza.

This is me trying to look spontaneous. :)
I was treated to homemade cinnamon rolls for breakfast Saturday morning.
Then a couple of good friends and I went to River Market Antiques,
and I was treated to lunch!  I'm so grateful for their friendship.
Ross took the kids to tj maxx to pick out some presents for me.
Leah chose a crazy pink case full of sparkly nail polish!
What a funny girl.  She's so into girly things.
I got a little too much love and attention from these two.

Our ward BBQ was that evening.  It was soo ridiculously hot.
Luckily there was a pool next door that was free if the
temperature reached over 100.  Woot!  I didn't take any pictures there.

And Ross (as always) made me a beautiful and delicious dessert.

We ended the weekend on Sunday at my parents,
where we enjoyed a delicious meal made by my mom.
This year was extra special because my new sister-in-law (Kia)'s birthday
is the day after mine! So we had a little joint party.

Thanks to all the loved ones who made my birthday fun!

4th of July

We had a great 4th this year.  Ross was totally in his element with the fireworks.  Something he's always loved to do.  He tried to play it cool when we went to the giant fireworks warehouse but I knew better-- he was pretty excited.  We spent the week in Lincoln, NE where Ross' parents are.
Started off on the 3rd with the city's fireworks show.
Ross got out his massive collection of water guns for the kids.  And a water fight ensued.

And we had our own mini fireworks show on the evening of the 4th.

We also decorated some cupcakes and did a little craft.
And headed to The Children's Museum.

Ross' parent's are always so generous.  The best hosts you could ask for.  Thanks for having us!

Turkey Creek Festival

It's so fun to have kids that are old enough to really get into something like this.  We enjoyed inflatables, a paddle-boat ride, and a petting zoo.  And to my surprise Leah absolutely LOVED riding the ponies.  She did it 5 or 6 times and asked for it more.  With a wide wide green on her face.  My camera battery died before that so I didn't get any pictures, but man was it cute.  Also, that's a pretty awesome face-plant in that second photo!

Father's Day

Sorry, family.  It's been so long I know.  This has been quite a busy month, but I don't have much here, or many photos period to show for it.  But there are a small smattering of photos somewhere that I have taken, so I'll try to catch up and post some of those.

I give you, Father's Day.

I think these photos do a good job in showing what a great dad Ross is.  He gets excited with the kids, and always includes them in everything.  We got him some new drills, which honestly made him the most happy I've ever seen him opening a present.  He's got quite the arsenal of tools now.  We also picked out some gummy candy, and Leah was (clearly) very excited about giving it to him.  Hopefully soon I'll do a post about all the awesome things he's done around the house.  He's a good one!
