It's all about Ethan

So it's been a long while since I've talked about my little one. He is almost 1 yr. old! Sheesh. He is becoming quite the busy boy. Loves to eat, loves to wrestle with Dad, loves to snuggle with mom, loves loves loves to play with balls, and loves being outside.

We know he has a gut. He's trying to work it off.

Pulling up:
(WHY do the colors look like that? 3rd time imported and still weird.)

And stretching:

Also he climbs stairs a lot. Gives me a heart attack.
No picture included.

Loving the beautiful weather at the park:

Jamie and Stewart

So when you first look at pictures you've taken (at least for me), all you see are the mistakes. And then you don't look at them for a couple of days, and you come back and you like them more, and then you come back again and you like even more. There are still mistakes, but I think overall the good outweighs the bad.

Stewart and Jamie are some of the nicest, most genuine people I've ever met. And I knew that way before I took their pictures. I'm so so happy for them. Oh, and we SO lucked out with the weather. It was beautiful- and like 45 degrees.

Here are some of my favorites from their day.

Beautiful Winter Quarters temple

Their first time seeing each other.
We got some fun shots with that set-up:

We went over to this really cool (Protestant? Catholic? I can't remember)
building that was right next door.
I really liked the walls.

Ross was workin' the reflector here:

And of course my boys were super cute:

Britany and Dan

So aren't these two the cutest ever! I love how protective Dan is of Britany. He takes good care of her. It was lots of fun to shoot these guys, even though I've stil got a lot to learn!

And I recently discovered Poladroid. It's free, and it's sweet! There is even a whole flickr group dedicated to it. Drag and drop your pictures and they become polaroids.

P.S. Some people are kind of against this-- they say these kind of things are the reason Polaroid film is no longer made. This I do not know. I just think it's something fun to do.

For posterity. Christmas: Final Installment.

I just had to get these on here. To document!

Ethan had lots of fun with friends and family:

Ross was punk'd by his Momma:

They were happy because they succeeded:

One of the few pictures of me, Ethan is eating his new shirt:

Ross wrote me a sweet note and gave presents along with it,
since we'll be apart a lot for the next couple of months:

Ethan was really tuckered out by 9:30 Christmas morning:

Ethan received some fun presents:

And it seems helicopters were the theme this Christmas:

And so. My first tax season as an accountant widow has begun. Ross will be spending his time in Kansas City working, and I'll be going back and forth. I guess he'll be working 70+ hours a week, so it doesn't do me much good to go over and join him anyway. I'll try REALLY hard not to sound too melancholy! This is good. He needs this experience. He does. Grumble. Grumble.

Christmas: Installment 2

When the weather was 60 degrees and beautiful.

Yikes, I gotta post more often if I don't want to be talking about Christmas in February. I took lots o' pictures.

My own personal tornado

We fit right in here in Kansas.

My mom says that if it entertains him for longer than it takes to clean it up, it's worth the mess. I agree.
