I can't help it-- one more post today

This is my adorable little brother Will. This is what he does. Video games. He's 13. And super cool. But he doesn't just play video games- he's also a rising tennis star, as well as a talented writer. I love him. I must have caught him a little off guard with the first one.

LIFE

After my post a while ago about not living my own life very well, I remembered that Ross and I had done this recently. And it was a lot of fun- and I would argue that we were indeed living it up! I already posted these on facebook, but I thought I'd put them here too. As I explained on facebook, the quality's not great- It was quite dark, and so I used a super high ISO. Oh yeah- and I used one of them as a banner for my blog! We're so awesome! Haha.

BFF

A couple of weeks ago, a friend of mine asked me if I could take some pictures of her daughter and and her daughter's best friend. One of the girls was moving (in fact, we're moving into their old place) and this would be their last HOOrah together. I think some of them are fun. It was really hard to get both of them to look at me at the same time! But it was really fun to do!

Just a thought

So I've been doing some thinking. Lately I've been kind of engrossed in other people's blogs. Not only the blogs that are on my list, but also these amazing photographers' blogs. (Tara Whitney & Jessica Claire) And as I read their blogs I find links to other great people, and through those I find other really awesome websites, and it becomes an endless virtual journey. As interesting and intriguing as it all is, I've found I have been doing more living through other people than I have been living myself. I don't really like that. I think it's kind of a trend these days- to be apart of other people's lives, without actually being IN other people's lives. Reality TV is just that. You get to enjoy all the little details of someone else's life as a fly on the wall. You feel part of it, but you're really not. Maybe my motto should be Live YOUR Life. Oh wait- American Eagle already took that one...hmmm :)

Well, I know this isn't really a unique idea, but it's been something that's been on my mind recently. I guess I just wanted to say that blogging is an amazing way to connect to other people; I love reading about everyone's lives. But I gotta remember to keep living mine!

Oh- and some ice cream cake

So, to offset my oh so healthy salad, I'm also putting up this ice cream cake that I made. It's super easy, and super yummy. I got it from kraftfoods.com. Here is the recipe.

Mine is not quite so beautiful- but it's pretty delicious.

A winning combination

So I've recently discovered my new favorite salad. It's healthy, tastes wonderful, and is also very pleasing to the eye. A strawberry spinach salad. It's just spinach, strawberries, feta cheese, and a balsamic vinaigrette.

And sometimes, if I don't feel like the wide variety of flavors, I replace the strawberries with sun dried cranberries. They have a little subtler flavor, but they combine wonderfully with the feta and vinaigrette. I used my mom's homemade balsamic vinaigrette- I have yet to make my own, so I don't really know the correct proportions. But I'm sure my my friend the culinary virtuoso Joy would know. If you're interested, you could ask her.
