Phew!
We made it through our first week. It's been wonderful and it's been tiring. When we first brought him home I thought to myself, there is no way people can lead normal lives and have children at the same time! Well I've learned that that's possible now. Another thing I've learned is patience. I'm usually the type of person who likes to get things done as efficiently and quickly as possible. But of course with Ethan, things need to be done at his pace. I can't hurry him along with eating, or make him burp any faster... I've learned to just enjoy the experience and relax.
Ross' family all came to Manhattan this weekend, and so we blessed him on Sunday so that they could all be here for it. Ross did a great job. Ethan was perfectly content before the blessing. About a minute into it though he let out a few squeals! And then when Ross sat back down with him he was content again. Kind of funny.
He is sleeping and eating really well. He sleeps 3-4 hours in a row at night. I don't really have anything to compare that to, but it seems good! And he goes back to bed after eating with hardly a fuss.
Here are some pictures from his first week. I'm in love.

He is so cute! I am impressed that you feel like you can lead a normal life already. It has been 4 years and I am still waiting! :-)
Don't you love how even within that first minute that they are born you feel the change in your life. He really is so darling. And let me tell you that he is a good sleeper if you are getting 3-4 hours at a time. What a good mom you are. Enjoying each little moment. I wish that I had not been trying so hard with Gwen in the beginning I think that I could have saved myself some really stressful times.
I think that you are way ahead of the parenting game already. I love the photos, it is a good thing that you are snapping them already, because they change so fast. You look so great. Are you sure that you just had an 8 pound baby?
Lauren, I'm seriously almost in tears I'm so happy for you! He is ADORABLE! And I wish I was closer so I could see both of you! I hope that you continue to recover...you look fantastic!
Oh and I was wondering if you guys read any good baby books that you would recommend?
Oh my goodness!! I can't believe you're a mom! That is so crazy! He is so cute! Congratulations!
(That's a lot of exclamation points, but I meant every one of them.)
Gorgeous little man! I love your photos, because they're so professional! Your family is lucky to have some amazing photographers in it. And you look great Lauren!
Yay! You made it through your first week...that gives me hope!
P.S. He's a doll!
I keep coming back and looking at these pictures and keep being amazed! I can't believe you're a mom! Isn't it just so bizarre that we're all 'adult' enough to bear children!? I mean, I really remember meeting you for the first time and experiencing so much with you growing up! It's absoLUTEly nuts isn't it!? I think I'm in denial.
He is such a stud. Can't wait to see him for real.
